twisting the night away

I have decided to dismantle my website for now, as it was working a bit slowly, and also maybe it will make me spend some time revamping it and working out how to use Wordpress.
For now I intend to blog more frequently with latest stuff from work. So here is a recent cover for a '50s compilation!

emerald beauty

I would like to welcome to the world my new print roller from Lawrence's. Oh it is my pride and joy,  my emerald beauty. (When it arrived, I generously let some of my workpals touch the shimmering translucent Durathene surface, then got worried they might scratch at it accidentally, and hurriedly took it back.)

So the other weekend I did some test prints, a few chickens and hearts and whatnot, here they are. I have many more lino-based plans for the E.B., I'll keep you posted.

des fleurs

today I had a mess about with my paints

a lovely bookshelf on the wall

I recently turned the grand old age of 25 and so I asked for a bookcase for my birthday. I love its piney shelves. I also received some lovely new books to put upon it! Scripts: Elegant Lettering from Design's Golden Age from my wondrous pal Annaliese, and New Vintage Type from ma belle amie Suzie. V. inspired now.

Other nice things... I also got Graham Rawle's new book The Card which I am very excited to read, and this tremendous Cath Kidston tin with a dog on it from Philippa Randles. I have put my paints in it.

not at the table, carlos

Here's a thticker I designed at work... they wanted the text to look like the title on the Hangover poster, to stick on their van when they drive to Vegas to run about the desert, looking for strippers and cocaine.

preloved

projecting sign
window graphics, bag and swing tag

credit note, business cards, flyer

This is some work I did for a new thrift shop in Truro called Preloved Boutique.
They resell new and nearly-new clothes from high-street brands, most of which don't exist in Cornwall. You can take in your unwanted things/mistake buys and swap them like Pokemons, for money or for a credit note to spend on things in the shop.
Such an awesome idea, good for the environment, good in this bleddy recesh', good for Cornish people starved of decent clothes!
I wish it existed when I lived there, then maybe I wouldn't have bought that hoody from Trago Mills. I just didn't know any better.
